Known as one of the finest hotels in North America, The Ahwahnee has hosted many celebrities including Presidents and the Queen of England. Hotel Rooms Hotel rooms in the main building are appointed in rich fabrics, warm woods and Native American motifs. They offer exceptional views of Yosemite Valley's spectacular scenery including Half Dome, Yosemite Falls and Glacier Point. Junior Suites The El Dorado Diggins Suite has been a private dining room, a cocktail lounge and even a chapel during World War II when the Navy used the hotel for convalescing service men. This suite comfortably sleeps four and features a sunken living room, large picture window, slate entry, and the only Jacuzzi bathtub in Yosemite. The Mary Curry Tressider Suite, once a private bedroom suite, was transformed into guest accommodations in 1970. With a four-poster canopy bed and rich color palette, the room has a decidedly romantic aura. On her trip to Yosemite in 1983, Queen Elizabeth II stayed in this suite. Cottages Located among the dogwoods and pines on the hotel grounds, these rustic cottages have the comfort of a mountain lodge -- with Native American accents and natural wood furnishings. Each room has a private bath, television, telephone, small refrigerator and small stone patio. Air-conditioning, shade trees and ceiling fans keep the cottages comfortable during the summer months. Deposit & Cancellation Policies: An advance deposit of the first night's stay including tax is required to reserve a room. The cancellation policy is at least 7 days prior to the scheduled arrival date in order to receive a full refund of the deposit. If you fail to arrive on the scheduled arrival date, your reservation will be canceled and you will not receive any refund or credit of the deposit. The cancellation/change policy is strictly enforced, and exceptions are not allowed. Rates are based on a maximum of two adults per room and do not include taxes. There is an additional charge of $21 per night for each extra adult in a room. |
