The Badlands National Park was created to preserve the scenic and
scientific value of a portion of the White River Badlands for the
benefit and enjoyment of the people. Here natural processes have
uncovered and displayed a concentrated collection of rutted ravines,
serrated towers, pinnacles, and precipitous gulches. The park contains
world renowned paleontological features and geological formations of the
Eocene and Oligocene epochs with recognized scientific and educational
value. This spectacular setting contains a fine example of a vast
mixed grass prairie ecosystem. The landscape encompasses an 11,000
year legacy of human use and occupancy. Located in South Dakota,
Badlands National Park is an excellent addition to the national park

Cedar Pass Lodge:
Cedar Pass Lodge first opened for business in 1928, predating
the establishment of Badlands National Monument by eleven years.
Without the distractions of phones or televisions, each cabin is
furnished with heat/air conditioning, a coffee pot and a bath.
Cedar Pass Lodge is a must stop when en-route through South
Dakota's Badlands.

lodge is located in beautiful Wall, SD, your "Gateway to the

has added a great indoor and outdoor pool complex sure to
delight the entire family. The Plains Motel allows you to enjoy
the wonders of the Badlands and return to relax in the brand new
hot tub while the kids swim. Or if you want to get in a quick
workout before touring for the day, the brand new exercise room
will have you feeling great.
