Apache Trail

It's amazing how the Native Americans lived and traveled in the Big Bend. They were some hardy folks! Although early residents of this area did not build permanent structures, they did leave a great deal of their lives behind.

If you like cultural history, think about joining us for a 2 hour Jeep tour and walk into one of the many Native American "base camps" in the Big Bend. You'll need some good walking shoes, a camera and an outdoor mind.

Summer Departures: Apache Trail for the period May 15 - October 1 departs once a day at 9:00 a.m. from the Far Flung Outdoor Center.

Fall and Winter Departures: Apache Trail for the period October 1 - May 14 departs twice a day (9:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.) from the Far Flung Outdoor Center.

Return Time/Trip Length: 2 hours
Refreshments: Iced water provided by Far Flung. Guests should bring their own water bottle to be re-filled during the tour.
Difficulty: This tour requires walking on flat terrain with some elevation gain at the end of the trip. In fact, this tour has more walking than actual Jeep time. Guests should be in reasonable physical condition and be comfortable with a 1 mile round trip walk at a very slow pace.
Minimum Age: 6

Adult Price: $54/person
Child Price (12 years and younger): $49/person
(Trip price includes guide, "safari" style Jeep and iced water. Price does not include Texas sales tax of 7.75%, energy surcharge, or gratuities)

Deposit & Cancellation Policies: A non-refundable deposit of $10/person is required at the time of making a reservation with the remaining balance due 48 hours prior to the departure date.

Camp 360 (our most popular tour!)

Camp 360 Jeep Tour, Big Bend National ParkOur first Camp 360 tour back in 1998 was named that because we went to a place that had a spectacular view of Big Bend in all directions. This tour has changed over the years (and will again), but the name has stuck, and so have the views.  Without a doubt, this is our most popular three hour trip.

So grab your camera (they are required!), put on some good walking shoes and join this fun, educational, scenic road trip to the back of nowhere!

Summer Departures: 360 tours for the period May 15 - October 1 depart once a day at 9:00 a.m. from the Far Flung Outdoor Center.

Fall and Winter Departures: 360 tours for the period October 1 - May 14 depart twice a day (9:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.) from the Far Flung Outdoor Center.

Refreshments: Iced water provided by Far Flung. Guests should bring their own water bottle to be re-filled during the tour.

Round the Bend

Round the Bend Jeep Tour, Big Bend National ParkIs there such a thing as taking a vacation and going to school at the same time?

Well, if you're coming out to the Big Bend - and it's your first time - give some thought to taking this Big Bend 101 course by Jeep.  We call it 'Round the Bend. There are no quizzes, homework or books...just a curious mind is all that is needed for this 6 hour (we call it all day) adventure into Big Bend National Park.

While we can't take in the entire park (that would translate into days, if not a lifetime!), our professors of natural history, will turn you into true "Big Benders"! By the way, you don't have to be a first timer to enjoy this course!  And we'll bring lunch.

Departure Time: 9:00 a.m.
Return Time/Trip Length: Around 3 p.m.
Meals & Refreshments: Lunch, iced tea, lemonade and water provided. Guests should bring their own water bottle to be re-filled during the tour.
