Denali National Park & Preserve features North America's highest
mountain, 20,320-foot tall Mount McKinley. The Alaska Range also
includes countless other spectacular mountains and many large glaciers.
Denali's more than 6 million acres also encompass a complete sub-arctic
eco-system with large mammals such as grizzly bears, wolves, Dall sheep,
and moose. The park was established as Mount McKinley National Park on
Feb. 26, 1917. The original park was designated a wilderness area and
incorporated into Denali National Park and Preserve in 1980. The Park
was designated an international biosphere reserve in 1976. Today the
park accommodates a wide variety of visitor use including wildlife
viewing, mountaineering, and backpacking. It continues to provide a
laboratory for research in the natural sciences. Denali National
Park is an excellent Alaska destination for visitors who enjoy the
outdoors and majestic wildlife such as moose, grizzly bear, dall sheep,
caribou, and wolves.
McKinley Village Resort:
Located directly across the river from Denali
National Park & Preserve, McKinley Village Lodge is nestled in a
lush forest of spruce trees. At this lovely location, just
minutes from the Denali Visitor Center, you'll enjoy access to
activities, a popular restaurant and lounge, and comfortable
accommodations in a scenic setting. Rates: $249 to

Denali Bluffs Hotel:
Dedicated to providing superior accommodations
and service, the 112-room hotel is the closest to the park
entrance. Many rooms have a private balcony and most have
breathtaking views of the surrounding Alaska Range. The cozy
lodge features relaxing sitting areas and a large stone
fireplace. All rooms are well appointed with an Alaskan theme
and feature two double beds, television, telephone, coffee
maker, table and chairs, refrigerator, and private bath.

modern building in the Denali area with dramatic 34 - foot
atrium ceilings. The facility includes 290 upscale
mini-suite rooms in cedar lodges and 55 deluxe cottonwood rooms
located on the banks of the Nenana River. There is fine dining
at the Nenana View Bar and Grille, and casual dining at the
