Lodging at Drakesbad Guest Ranch, Lassen Volcanic National ParkProperty Description: The only lodging located inside the park, Drakesbad Guest Ranch is open from early June to early October weather permitting.  The Drakesbad Guest Ranch is over 110 years old and was first founded and operated by E.R. Drake. Drake sold the Ranch to the Sifford family in 1900 who named it Drakesbad for the warm water baths and swimming pool that are still fed by the hot springs on the property.  Drakesbad is very secluded and nestled within the boundaries of Lassen Volcanic National Park, in one of the most scenic mountain valleys in all of Northern California.

All accommodations are rustic, modest and most are without electricity.  The use of kerosene lamps is a welcome respite from the modern world and adds a distinct and old time ranch flavor to your stay.  Housekeeping services are provided daily.  All rooms include full or half bath and are heated by propane. As a member of the Green Hotels network, we make every effort to reduce, reuse and recycle at Drakesbad.  Your assistance will be described upon your arrival.  The Ranch is open generally from the first Friday in June to the second Sunday in October.  Located at an altitude of 5700 feet, during July and August, one can expect warm, sunny days and cool evenings.  Early June brings the added attraction of the meadow wildflower display and September visitors get the first hint of fall colors in the aspen and willow stands.  Visitors should bring clothing suitable for inclement weather, just in case.
