Our spring half-day trips usually last about three
hours, from the time we leave our office until we
return. During July, August, and September, the river
tames down a bit, but it still has lots of whitewater
action. It's a great time for all ages, especially
senior citizens and families with small kids to
experience the thrill of the whitewater. "Best of all,"
the air and water temperatures are warmer for swimming
and water fights. Our late summer trips last around four
hours.
These trips travel through the John Stevens Canyon ,
where the rapids are rated class II and class III. Each
of our trips our guided by an experienced guide, there
to help you learn the skills of maneuvering your raft
down through the rapids.
Now it's your turn for the thrill of a lifetime! These
trips happen regularly May Through September. |

The
wild and scenic Middle Fork of the Flathead is one of the great, wild
rivers of the West. We offer you a choice of 2 or 3 day trips
complete with all river gear, meals, and shuttle service. The
experienced river guides know the river intimately, assuring you an
exciting ride through some of Montana's wildest whitewater rapids.
You'll thrill to the excitement of a deep roar and the joyous screams
from the preceding boats as you challenge the river at every drop.
The river will carry you along between two
great mountain ranges, with the Great Bear Wilderness on one side
of the canyon and the lofty summits of Glacier Park on the other.
Truly unspoiled, the region teems with fish and wildlife of all kinds.
Your guides will see to your comforts and prepare meals fit for a king.
With the river at your feet and a blanket of stars over your
head, you'll begin and end your days to the timeless sounds of the
river.
DAY 1:
Meet your group and enjoy our generous
complimentary continental breakfast. This is also the time for check-in,
rental of river gear, orientation, and any last minute packing. The
morning float includes some great whitewater rapids ranging from
Class II to Class IV. Your guide will stop along the river to give
you a chance to relax while we prepare a delicious lunch.
There
is often time to take a short walk along the river, stretch your legs
and enjoy the scenery and wildlife. The scenic float continues,
carrying you through canyons and past ancient forests in a landscape
that remains pristine and undeveloped. We set up camp early in the
evening. A generous full course dinner is prepared by your guides.
Montana days are long, and the evenings seem to last forever. Be
prepared for short hikes or beach volleyball. When the stars come out,
songs and stories around the campfire bring the day to a
memorable close.
DAY 2:
In the morning,
the emphasis is on scenery as we traverse the southern boundary of
Glacier National Park. We often see animals and waterfowl in this
stretch.
DAY 3:
Awake
to the sound of the river and cozy up to the morning fire with a strong
cup of coffee. After another hearty breakfast, the rafts will be loaded
and the river will sweep you away to another day of wilderness
adventure. The water is calmer with fewer rapids as we travel into
another scenic portion of the trip. You may
want to swim, relax, or just take in the sights and sounds of the
canyon. The afternoon float brings us to the West Glacier area. We
arrive back at the office around 4:00 p.m. |
