El Tovar Hotel in Grand Canyon National Park

EL TOVAR HOTEL
In 1905 the El Tovar Hotel opened at the end of the railroad line and was considered to be one of the most elegant hotels west of the Mississippi.  El Tovar continues to be the only first class hotel in Grand Canyon National Park.  The hotel has hosted such luminaries as Theodore Roosevelt, Albert Einstein and many others.  The El Tovar is a National Historic Landmark and retains its elegant surroundings, which take you back in time.  The El Tovar Hotel is Grand Canyon's most popular lodge, so make your reservations as early as possible.

Bright Angel Lodge in Grand Canyon National Park

BRIGHT ANGEL LODGE
Opened in 1935, this popular Grand Canyon lodge was designed by architect Mary Elizabeth Jane Colter.  Located on the edge of the rim, Bright Angel Lodge is the check-in location for the famous Grand Canyon mule rides.  The Bright Angel lodging facility consists of lodge rooms and cabin rooms.  A Registered National Historic Landmark, the Bright Angel Lodge is favorite among Grand Canyon visitors seeking both a central rim location and a lodge with historic significance.  Bright Angel Lodge is a popular choice, so make your reservations early.

Maswik Lodge in Grand Canyon National ParkMASWIK LODGE
Built in the 1960s, Maswik Lodge lies in a wooded area, a 5-minute walk from the rim.  If you're not up to walking, you can catch a free shuttle directly in front of the lodge.  The Maswik Lodge has a cafeteria, sports bar, and gift shop.  The guest rooms are in 16 two-story wood-and-stone buildings known as Maswik North and South.  Most Maswik North rooms have vaulted ceilings, private balconies, and forest views, making them among the most pleasant in the park.  Rooms in Maswik South are 5 years older, a bit smaller, and have less pristine views.  Either way, the Maswik Lodge is an excellent lodging option for visitors wishing to stay inside the national park.

Kachina Lodge in Grand Canyon National Park

KACHINA LODGE
The Kachina Lodge is located in the heart of the Grand Canyon Village, a mere 30 meters from the Grand Canyon Rim.  Guests must check in at the El Tovar front desk for their stay at the Kachina Lodge.  The Kachina Lodge was completely renovated in 1997, and the rooms each have either two queen beds or one king bed.  Reflecting its Hopi name, the spacious rooms capture the Southwestern spirit.  Half of the rooms have a partial canyon view, and all rooms include in-room coffee, television, telephone, refrigerator, safe, and full bath.  This contemporary lodge is ideally located on the rim between the El Tovar Hotel and Bright Angel Lodge.

Yavapai Lodge in Grand Canyon National Park

YAVAPAI LODGE
Yavapai Lodge is the park's largest facility, and is nestled within woodlands approximately one quarter of a mile from the rim.  Yavapai Lodge is the only lodging facility other than El Tovar with central air conditioning (only available in Yavapai East rooms).  Lodge rooms include either one king or two queen beds, a refrigerator, television, telephone, coffee maker, a modem port, and full bath.  With modern newly renovated rooms and many services within walking distance, this is a convenient place for families. Yavapai Lodge is normally open March through November and during winter holiday periods.

Grand Hotel at Entrance to Grand Canyon National Park

GRAND HOTEL
The entrance to the Grand Canyon National Park is walking distance away, and the South Rim of the Canyon is just a short car ride away.  The Hotel was built in 1998 and resembles a sprawling, three-story chalet.  All of the 121 rooms are decorated in bright, Southwestern décor and come with large windows and plenty of amenities.  All hotel guests are invited to use the indoor pool, hot tub and adjacent fitness center.  The warm and spacious lobby is reminiscent of a mountain lodge with exposed timbers and stone, a large flagstone fireplace, and cozy seating areas. The lobby even has a grand piano, complimentary wireless Internet access, and a Starbucks station.

Red Feather Lodge at Entrance to Grand Canyon National Park

RED FEATHER LODGE
The Grand Canyon Red Feather Lodge is ideally located in the center of the small town of Tusayan, just one mile south of the south entrance to the Grand Canyon National Park on Highway 64, within walking distance of many restaurants, gift shops and the National Geographic Visitor Center.
