Yellowstone National Park Fishing Trip
Some of the finest blue ribbon trout fishing in the
United States can be found around Yellowstone National Park.
You'll enjoy the fishing trip of a lifetime complete with the area's
most knowledgeable and experienced guides of Bob Jacklin. The guides work in the
area everyday, and have an unparalleled knowledge of the rivers and
lakes that you will be fishing.
Half day trips are a good way to work on some of the
basics of fly fishing and casting for a morning. These days are ideal for
the beginning angler who wants to learn just what it is all about, and
is short on time. All trips inside Yellowstone National Park are
walk/wade.
Bob Jacklin has assembled the finest guide crew in the West
Yellowstone area, all guides are highly skilled and competent
instructors and fishermen. They can work with you to improve your
technique and get you into shots at good fish no matter what your skill
level. We specialize in catch-and-release dry fly fishing on some of the
greatest dry fly water on earth, and offer two types of trips, both
float and walk/wade.
Float trips are the most common trips and are
designed for the angler who likes to cover a lot of water. It is tough
to beat a day on the Madison with a Bob Jacklin guide, truly an experience
you'll not forget. We offer walk/wade trips in both full and half days.
This is a good way to work on your on-stream technique, and fish with a
knowledgeable guide much as you would on your own, without a boat. It
gives the angler a chance to work over a certain section of water more
thoroughly.
The guides provide experience, boats, lunches,
snacks, and refreshments to make your trip worthwhile, comfortable, and
fun. You can bring along your own tackle or rent for a discounted rate
from the fly shop, and our guides will help you pick out the right flies in the
morning. We meet at 8:00 a.m. at the shop in West Yellowstone, and
generally return between 6:00 p.m. and 7 p.m. on our full days. The half
days go for 4 hours, whether you start in the morning or afternoon. Please note that our guided fishing trips often sell out
well in advance, so make your reservations as early as possible.
